Palmetto Behavioral Health Names Zimmerman Executive Director

Charleston, S.C. – Palmetto Behavioral Health, a Charleston-based mental health provider offering services for mental illness (OR mental health) and addictive disease at its four South Carolina facilities, has named McBee Zimmerman as executive director of Palmetto Pines Behavioral Health, located in Summerville, S.C.
As executive director, Zimmerman is responsible for overseeing a 60-bed residential treatment facility. Prior to joining Palmetto Behavioral Health, Zimmerman was employed as director of Shelter Services with Carolina Youth Development, where she was awarded a Duke Endowment grant that afforded the organization a comprehensive family program. She previously managed a private practice and served as a therapist at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Zimmerman, who holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of Charleston and a master’s of education degree in clinical counseling from The Citadel, is a licensed professional counselor (LPC). With a focus on substance abuse, self-injury, trauma, and eating disorders, Zimmerman has helped develop a number of programs for children and their families that advocate and address their treatment needs.
Palmetto Behavioral Health serves the coastal and Pee Dee areas of South Carolina with a broad range of psychiatric services addressing the needs of individuals and families living with mental illness and addictive disease. Psychiatric programs and services designed to provide a caring, comfortable atmosphere are offered for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors in private inpatient and outpatient settings at four facilities: Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Hospital, Palmetto Behavioral Health Solutions, Palmetto Pee Dee Behavioral Health and Palmetto Pines Behavioral Health.
