Lexington, SC – Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecom
cable systems industry, is launching the “Make It” recruitment program,
aimed at engineers and technical staff with manufacturing experience. The
company is seeking process, maintenance, design, and quality engineers, as
well as other technical specialists, to cover key roles in the manufacturing
area in one of the company’s centers of excellence located throughout the
world. Requirements include a degree in engineering or equivalent, three to
five years of work experience obtained in similar positions in a previous
professional context, and outstanding leadership qualities.
The Group is aiming to identify and develop the manufacturing sector’s best
talents, offering them the opportunity to make full use of their skills and
expertise. Through a four-year professional pathway, “Make It” offers a top
training program involving the Prysmian Group Academy, which will focus on
further developing the skills essential for the career of the candidates
selected. The program will include two weeks training in the Milan
headquarters and two weeks in the new Manufacturing Academy in Mudanya
(Turkey), a specialist center due to be opened in January 2016 in one of the
Group’s major plants, allowing highly specialized personnel to be trained.
Prysmian’s constant quest for continuous improvement and success are linked
to the quality and skills of its resources. Ongoing learning, training, and
opportunities for concrete professional development are the key elements
underlining the company’s philosophy and an extensive human capital
development strategy. “The ‘Make It’ program embodies the pronounced
emphasis that Prysmian places on development of its people. We have a
personal passion for people and manufacturing alike, and we are incredibly
excited to launch a program that cultivates training, growth, and stability.
The institution of ‘Make It’ is a testament to the organization’s belief in
the value of human capital,” states Christina Trainor, VP of Human Resources
and Organization – NA.

Prysmian Group operates 11 plants in North America, serving the telecom and

used to produce low voltage, medium voltage, and extra high voltage
insulated cables. In addition, the Group has a manufacturing facility in
Prescott, Ontario, to meet Canada’s power cabling needs, and can rely also
on two specialty cable plants in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. There is
also a location in New Jersey dedicated to special Down Hole Technology
(DHT) systems for the OG&P industry, with headquarters in Houston, TX. The
Group’s elevator business operates two manufacturing facilities in North
