LowcountryBizSC: Carolina Orthopaedics donates furniture to senior center
Carolina Orthopaedics, based in Murrells Inlet, S.C., and providing comprehensive orthopaedic care to the Grand Strand community, recently donated a number of furniture items to the South Santee Senior & Community Center in McClellanville, S.C. The items came from the late September closing of Carolina Orthopaedics’ Georgetown clinic.
This donation, which included 12 waiting room chairs, three end tables, two benches, one small kitchen table, and four matching chairs, was presented to the Board of Directors of the Concerned Citizens of the Unincorporated Areas of District One for use in the South Santee Senior & Community Center, located at 710 South Santee Road.
Samuel Campbell, president of the board of directors, expressed his gratitude for Carolina Orthoapedics’ enthusiastic support in providing the needed furniture. He said, “The senior center was in dire need of additional chairs and tables for the many activities that occur there. The solid and comfortable chairs will bring both comfort and delight to the seniors who use the senior center weekly.”
Carolina Orthopaedics decided to close the Georgetown office in an effort to consolidate orthopaedic services at the Murrells Inlet clinic. All patient records will be transferred there. Current patients can make an appointment at the Murrells Inlet office or Carolina Forest location. Patients seeking a copy of their medical records can call 843-294-1941 ext. 305. There is no charge for a one-time transfer to another doctor.
“We are grateful to the people of Georgetown for providing us with two and a half years of support and look forward to growing our clinics in the Murrells Inlet and Carolina Forest areas for many years to come,” commented Dr. Stephen Parker.
The team of doctors at Carolina Orthopaedics includes Dr. Michael Bohan for hip and knee; Dr. Edward Mikol for shoulder, knee, hip, and sports medicine; Dr. Christopher Crosby for foot and ankle; Dr. Stephen Parker for pain management; Dr. Brian Blair for shoulder, knee, hip, and sports medicine; Dr. Andrew Putman for hand, wrist and elbow; and Dr. Todd Cook for neck and spine.
