Threat Management Hires E. Boineau for Brand Reposition
PR Week – Jan 26, 2010
CHARLESTON, SC: Threat Management Group has hired E. Boineau Company, its first marketing and PR AOR, to rebrand its corporate identity.
Since 2004, TMG has provided training and support for military operations, support contractors, disaster preparedness officials and the private sector.
“We’ve been good at getting clients on our own, and we’re now a 40-person company [with annual revenues of about $7 million],” said Brandon Cox, TMG president and CEO. “But we decided a few months ago at an off-site meeting with myself and three VPs that we wanted to grow and take the company to the next level. We came to the realization that based on our background and experience that we weren’t the ones to best do that.”
TMG conducted an agency search locally. “We needed an agency that could help refine our company statement,” Cox told PRWeek. “[E. Boineau & Company] has similar beliefs and the right marketing strategy we were looking for.”
E. Boineau & Company will refine the company’s brand, in part by removing military speak from its marketing literature, and revamping some of its visual materials including the logo.
The agency also plans to launch a national media relations effort, starting later this week and continuing throughout the year. The campaign will target trade publications, as well as local media where the company has operations. TMG has employees stationed, in among other states, Alaska, California, Hawaii and Florida. “We want to define the company — who they are, what they do and why they matter — and take that story out,” says Elizabeth Boineau, president, E. Boineau & Co.
“What we primarily do is not covert in nature, even though some of the units we train and some of the people we deal with are covert,” added Cox. “But we’re very proud of what we do and provide a very needed service to the military as well as civilians. And we’re proud to get that word out.”
The value of the account was not disclosed.
