Hunter’s Holiday Toy Drive to deliver largest donation ever at Levine Children’s Hospital
What: Frampton Construction’s Charlotte office will be delivering all proceeds and donations from the second annual Hunter’s Holiday Toy Drive to Levine Children’s Hospital, in Charlotte, N.C. All donations and proceeds gathered over the last two months will be delivered Saturday morning to help the children and their families who may be spending Christmas at Levine Children’s Hospital this year.
When: December 18, 2021, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., is drop-off time
Where: The Main Entrance of Levine Children’s Hospital, 1000 Blythe Blvd, Charlotte, N.C., 28203 (entrance will be blocked for the hour for donations)
Details: Joey Smith, vice president of Frampton Construction, and his wife, Lindsay, started Hunter’s Holiday Toy Drive last year when their son, Hunter, was in the hospital over the holiday period. In 2020, Hunter’s Holiday Toy Drive donated about 2,000 toys and raised several thousand dollars in gift cards to help the children and families take care of medical bills and other needs. This year, Hunter’s Holiday Toy Drive partnered with Frampton Construction’s clients and trade partners, along with ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors) Carolinas, to support the cause. A minimum of $10,000 in toys, $6,000 in financial contributions and $3,000 in small gift cards are expected to make for a record donation.
Comment from Joey Smith, vice president of Frampton Construction: “Last year, Lindsay and I sat in a room at Levine Children’s Hospital while our son, Hunter (9) underwent emergency surgery for an appendectomy and kidney infection. During our 48+ days at Levine, we met so many families with sick children who were struggling and nearing the breaking point due to the stress that illness can bring on a home and family, even more during the holidays. It was then that we realized how blessed we are, and Hunter’s Holiday Toy Drive was conceived. We’re excited to have had many generous donations that will provide not only Christmas gifts for families, but groceries and more with the toys, gift cards, and monetary contributions that have been donated.”
