Frampton Construction breaks ground on The Blake at Baxter Village
Charleston, S.C. – Frampton Construction Company, LLC, a regional full-service construction firm providing planning and design support, preconstruction, construction services, and sustainability services throughout the Carolinas, has started work on The Blake at Baxter Village. Located just off of Highway 77 in Fort Mill, S.C., The Blake at Baxter Village is a senior living community consisting of an 88,000 square foot assisted living and memory care building and eight independent living cottages totaling 16,000 square feet.
The Blake will sit on 4.6 acres within the Baxter Village master planned community, a 1,033-acre pedestrian village with amenities that include a YMCA, public library, urgent care center, over 250,000 square feet of shops, offices and restaurants, and over 400 acres of open space with parks and trails.
The main facility will house 68 assisted living units and 33 memory care units with a variety of suites offering flexible floor plans, along with several amenities, including a movie theater, salon, card playing room, physical therapy clinic, and activity rooms. Interior courtyards with fountains and seating provide a space where residents can relax outside while remaining within the footprint and security of the main building.
A wood-framed structure with engineered trusses will form the structure of the main building, while abundant windows, covered porches, exterior ornamentation, and asphalt and metal roofing, along with the trademark Blake brick veneer, add old-world charm to the facade. The main building will be fully sprinklered, served by elevators, and feature a drive-up entry portico, extensive landscaping, and generous interior trim and finishes. Additional upgrades include quartz countertops in the units, additional wood trim in the dining areas, and a bistro.
Situated next to the main building, the eight independent living cottages will feature two-bedroom layouts designed to help residents achieve a sense of independence, comfort and safety.
The Blake is a collection of communities in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and South Carolina that provides top-quality assisted living and memory care services for older adults.
The Blake at Baxter Village is the fourth Blake assisted living project that Frampton has built with project developer Cardinal Ventures. Construction is expected to be complete in May of 2019.
