E. Boineau & Company promotes Parker, adds Metcalfe as new team member
CHARLESTON, S.C. – E. Boineau & Company, a marketing communications and public relations firm, based in Charleston, S.C., has named Melissa Pluta Parker as senior account director and added Haley Marie Metcalfe as assistant account executive.
Melissa Pluta Parker, who joined the firm in 2006, has over a decade of experience in public relations and communications. She previously served as the editorial and marketing assistant at The Nautical & Aviation Publishing Company, as assistant editor for SC Clips, a subscription-based online news source, and as co-editor for Yemassee, the literary journal at the University of South Carolina. In addition to serving as a core team member for E. Boineau & Company, Parker teaches English part time at Charleston Southern University. She has also taught at the College of Charleston and has worked as a consultant in the college’s writing lab. Parker, who holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of South Carolina, earned her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the College of Charleston, where she majored in English and minored in mass media communications and dance.
Haley M. Metcalfe graduated from Radford University, with a Bachelor of Science from the School of Communication. She majored in public relations and minored in management. While in college, she was an active member of the Public Relations Student Society of America, the National Communication Association Honor Society and a Panhellenic Council organization, Delta Zeta.
Haley brings experience in marketing, media relations, public relations and branding garnered as she worked for Hethwood Market in Blacksburg, Virginia and recently for Cru Catering in Charleston. She began as an intern, assisting in creating communication strategies to increase client awareness of local events, promotions and services. After the internship, Haley continued as a part-time marketing consultant, working to refine the company brand, develop marketing tools and coordinate events.
