LMASE Charleston City Group Hosts Social Media Panel
Charleston, SC – The Legal Marketing Association Southeastern Chapter, Charleston City Group will host a luncheon at Halls Chophouse at 434 King Street at noon on May 16, 2012 from noon to 1:30. The event will feature a panel discussion addressing “The Ins and Outs of Social Media.” Attorneys who attend are eligible to receive one CLE credit through the South Carolina Bar. The cost is $30 members / $40 non-members. Parking, validated at the event, is available at the Visitors Center Garage on Ann Street between King and Meeting. The event is open to all interested professionals: lawyers, outside consultants, in-house marketing and communications professionals.
Panelists include:
- Ashley Caldwell, social media marketing consultant, and founder/owner of The Modern Connection. Her company empowers clients – from startups to established businesses – with the technology and skills they need to succeed online.
- Allyson Haynes, Associate Professor of Law at the Charleston School of Law, has published articles on internet privacy and personal jurisdiction in journals such as the University of Miami Law Review and the Penn State Law Review.
- C. Tex Davis, Jr., Senior Assistant Disciplinary Counsel with the SC Office of Disciplinary Counsel. Tex investigates and prosecutes allegations of ethical misconduct against attorneys in South Carolina. He is a frequent speaker on the topics of ethics and professional responsibility.
Kevin Floyd, Communications Manager for Nexsen Pruet, will moderate. Kevin oversees the firm’s social media usage as well as public and media relations for the firm.
The Legal Marketing Association (LMA) is a 25-year-old not-for-profit professional organization that serves the needs and maintains the professional standards of the men and women involved in marketing, business development, client service and communications within the legal profession. LMA also serves as a resource for practicing attorneys and law firm leaders looking to develop their practices and gain competitive advantage.
