Mayoral candidate John Tecklenburg off to a solid start in 2015
Tecklenburg says he’s ready for 2015 campaign
Quarterly report shows $133,696.24 in contributions
Charleston, S.C. — Charleston businessman and mayoral candidate John Tecklenburg continues a strong fundraising effort with a quarterly campaign disclosure report showing year to date contributions of $133,696.24. The campaign has $121,044.23 in cash on hand.
“I’m fired up,” said Tecklenburg, who is looking forward to the November 2015 race. “With the New Year and upcoming election upon us, we think it’s time for Charleston to get engaged and excited about all that’s ahead for our wonderful city.”
“Our efforts in 2014 got the campaign off to a solid start, but we know there is still a lot of work to be done in 2015,” Tecklenburg continued. “As a city, we are in a good position to chart our future. Charleston’s best days are still ahead of us. I am passionate about my hometown, and I am fully prepared to help each citizen and neighborhood reach their greatest potential.”
The campaign has also seen a large growth in volunteers. There are more than 150 people in the volunteer corps, and the campaign contribution list includes over 290 donors.
“From the very beginning, this race has been solely about the people of Charleston, and the enormous support I have received shows that it is in fact about the people,” Tecklenburg said. “I believe that while Charleston has prospered in many areas, there is much work to be done to make our hometown a better place to live, work, and play. Together, we can make it happen.”
