LowcountryBizSC: Frampton Construction continues to grow in Charleston office
CHARLESTON, SC – Frampton Construction Company, LLC, a regional full-service construction firm providing planning and design support, preconstruction, construction services, and sustainability services throughout the Carolinas, has added recent graduate Brendan Gilbert as project engineer and Selby Austin as intern to the Charleston office.
In his role as project engineer, Gilbert works to assist the superintendent with day-to-day activities. He also communicates with the owners and subcontractors about ongoing project activities. Prior to joining Frampton Construction, Gilbert completed an internship with the Industrial Company as a quality engineer, and prior to that as field engineer intern with Mashburn Construction. Gilbert graduated from Clemson University in May of 2016 with an associate degree in construction science and management and holds a 30 hour OSHA card. A native of Charleston, S.C., he currently resides in Summerville.
As intern at Frampton Construction, Austin’s main responsibility includes conducting a green construction analysis of the Booz Allen/SPARC project in accordance with Frampton Construction’s green practices principles. He also assists in writing weekly reports, agendas, and meeting minutes, as well as overseeing all construction activities on-site. Austin, a rising senior, is currently pursuing a double major in economics and Spanish from Sewanee: The University of the South, located in Sewanee, Tenn. He is expected to graduate in May 2017. A native of Memphis, Tenn., he is spending the summer in Charleston.
