Charleston Regional Business Journal: Charleston logistics company hires CEO
Logistics and containerized cargo company Charleston Freight Station has hired Andrew Adams as CEO.
According to a news release, Adams will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and overseeing day-to-day operations for the company, located on Springbok Road off of Clements Ferry Road.
Charleston Freight Station is planning to expand into new markets in Savannah, Jacksonville, Fla., Miami and Atlanta and is adding more cold storage capacity to its 50,000-square-foot facility on Daniel Island, a news release said.
Adams has 25 years’ experience as a management and finance consultant working with small to midsized companies, the company said. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Hobart College in New York and has worked in New York City, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco.
Charleston Freight Station offers import and export services, including loose cargo transfer, ocean import cargo, full containerload and less-than-containerload services, among others. The company, which was founded in 1995, is a U.S. Customs bonded warehouse and cargo container station.
