Charleston Scene: Edisto Beach Shrimp Fest
Seafood fans will be in seventh heaven at the fourth annual Edisto Beach Shrimp Fest. Honoring the shrimping industry and its contributions to Edisto, local seafood will be a focal point and will be prepared using celebrated Edisto recipes. Arts and crafts vendors will be set up on-site and DJ Jim Bowers will provide entertainment from noon-5 p.m. There will be shag lessons at 5 p.m., followed by performances by Steve Craig and the Out Of Towners from 6-10 p.m.
When: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday
Where: Bay Creek Park, 3702 Docksite Road, Edisto Island
Price: Free admission until 5 p.m., then $3 per person; children under 12 get in free
