Moultrie News: ‘Tees for Keys’ golf tournament
East Cooper Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit, non-denominational Christian housing organization, is coming up on its fifth annual “Golf Tees to House Keys” benefit golf outing and wants a few more “charitable” golfers to sign up. Proceeds will help eliminate poverty housing in the area. Local media personality and Post and Courier columnist Warren Peper will be playing, and Kelly Golden of 94.3 WSC-FM will be on site for the shotgun start, just to get things started with a bang.
The event is May 13 at Daniel Island Club, Beresford Creek Course. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with lunch at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
The tournament will follow an 18-hole shamble format. A cocktail reception and silent auction will be held at 6 p.m. Team prizes will be awarded for low net and low gross. There will also be longest drive, closest to the pin and putting contests and a major hole-in-one prize.
Cost is $225 per player or $850 per team. Sponsorships are also available. Sign-up is available until 11 a.m. on the day of the event.
