AWR Court Reporting is pleased to announce that Jesse Kirchner with Thurmond Kirchner Timbes & Yelverton is our 2014 Litigator of the Year Award winner.
For the past four years, AWR has selected litigators for this award who demonstrate exceptional work ethic, judicial temperament, client advocacy, trial and negotiation skills. “Each year we select a lawyer who really stands out in trial skills and service to clients and the local community,” says COO, David Roberts. “Mr. Kirchner has demonstrated not only success with his construction litigation practice but also with client advocacy.”
Jesse Kirchner earned his Juris Doctorate from The University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating in the top five percent of his law school class. During law school, he served as a summer law clerk to the Honorable Sol Blatt, Jr., Senior United States District Court Judge for South Carolina. He also served as a law clerk for the Senate Transportation Committee under the chairmanship of Senator W. Greg Ryberg.
After starting his career practicing primarily construction law with the law firm of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd (Charleston), he joined long-time friends Paul Thurmond, Michael Timbes, and Matt Yelverton in forming the law firm of Thurmond Kirchner Timbes & Yelverton.
Mr. Kirchner serves as managing partner and is the lead civil litigation and construction attorney at the firm. His successful trial work—resulting in multi-million dollar settlements —has positioned Thurmond Kirchner Timbes & Yelverton as a leading firm for civil and construction litigation cases. He was named Super Lawyers Rising Star (2012-2013) and Top Forty Lawyers Under Forty by the National Trial Lawyers Association.
