East Cooper Habitat for Humanity sets dedication for new home
What: East Cooper Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit, non-denominational Christian housing organization, will dedicate a completed home for new homeowner Barbara Rivers just off Rifle Range Road in Mt. Pleasant. This is East Cooper Habitat for Humanity’s 68th home completion since its founding in 1990.
When: Saturday, September 27, at 1 p.m.
Where: 1311 Myrick Road, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464 (from Coleman Boulevard, take left onto Chuck Dawley and then a right onto Myrick Road)
Speakers: East Cooper Habitat for Humanity staff and a local pastor will speak at the dedication, along with the new homeowner, Rivers.
Sponsors and donors: The Boeing Company, Jimmy Carroll of Carroll Realty, Inc., Seacoast Church, and many individuals and volunteers contributed financial support.
Of note: The Boeing Company has contributed funds to bring this house up to Energy Star Version 3 standards. This design is projected to save the homeowner $1,200 on energy costs and to benefit the community by reducing carbon emissions by 0.75 tons each year.
