Media Alert: Lowcountry Regional Airport set to celebrate 80 years of flight history

What: The Lowcountry Regional Airport, located in historic Walterboro, S.C., will celebrate its 80th anniversary with a family-friendly event.

When: Saturday, June 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: The event will be held at the Lowcountry Regional Airport, located at 537 Aviation Way, Walterboro, S.C., 29488.

Details:
• Recognition ceremony, from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Walterboro Mayor Bill Young will be part of the program.
• Flight demonstrations
• Civil Air Patrol Guard will march in formation
• Hot dogs, hamburgers, and cold drinks will be served.
• For children between the ages of 8 and 18, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will be offering its Young Eagle flights, free flights lasting between 15 and 20 minutes.

Cost: The event is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
