Shooting Incident in Walterboro Under Investigation
Walterboro Public Safety is investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 2:10 am this morning in front of the Comfort Zone, a restaurant and bar located at 115 East Washington Street in Walterboro.
Pursuant to a call for service at the address, Walterboro Public Safety officers established a crime scene and confirmed that there were two gunshot wound victims. Investigators processed the scene and conducted interviews with witnesses and victims. Victims received medical treatment from Colleton County Medical Center and were later transported to MUSC in Charleston. The injuries were not known to be life threatening, and one victim has been released.
Arrests warrants are being acquired for the arrest of Johnny Ray Ford, who is 30 years of age. Ford is being charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, unlawful carrying of a pistol, and discharging a firearm within city limits. Ford is described as a black male, approximately 5’ 9” tall, 160 pounds, with shoulder length dread locks. Ford is considered to be armed and dangerous.
