Walterboro Investigates Shooting Incident
Walterboro, S.C. – Walterboro Public Safety officers responded to shots fired at Wimberly’s Car Wash, located at 1209 Hampton Street, on Saturday, May 14, 2011, at approximately 3:40 p.m. On arriving at the scene, officers observed no one in the vicinity of the carwash, but they did find shell casings. The officers proceeded to secure the crime scene until investigators arrived and assumed control.
Officers then travelled to the Colleton Medical Center after receiving notification that a gun shot wound victim had just been admitted. The victim was later flown via helicopter to the Medical University of South Carolina in stable condition.
